About Me

My name is Pilar Dubuc-Penney and I am the owner and founder of AaBbCc Early Learning Center of Danbury. It is my pleasure, along with my staff of professional teachers and care-givers, to offer the finest in early education to the children of our dynamic and diverse community. I take pride in the quality of education to be provided here at AaBbCc as it is so important for the future of each of these little ones as well as to the future of our community and our country.

As a member of the Danbury community for over 25 years I have always felt that a preschool must accommodate the learning needs of all the families of our community to ensure that our children grow up feeling that they are part of a single community, not one divided by artificial language or cultural barriers. It is our commitment to "one community" that ensures our will children grow up in a society based on equality of opportunity for everyone regardless of their ethnicity.

I was born and raised in Lima, Peru where I finished my high school studies at Saint Rose of Lima-Maryknoll. At the age of eighteen I made the decision to come to The United States to attend college. My parents and the education I was provided in Peru prepared me well for the adventure and challenge of coming to a new country and starting fresh with new friends and new places. I completed college, worked, and traveled the US seeing many of the marvels of this great country before finally settling in Danbury in 1990 after marrying Lee Penney, my husband, best friend and soul-mate. After learning the preschool business here in Danbury, I felt compelled to open my own school as a way to give back to the community which has provided me with so much.

I have devoted my life to raising my own children with strong values and open minds and I will strive everyday to spread that philosophy to all the children under my care. I pledge to all the parents of these young people that I and the staff of AaBbCc will treat your children with the same loving care as if they were our own, because during the time they spend with us, they become our family.
